More information than you probably want on the autorun.inf file can be found here. There may be more than one though, as the game may have included installers for dependency components (like modern games do with Direct3D runtimes, for example). You could also dig around on the disc until you find a setup.exe, since that's what the actual installers are usually called. Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of Destruction CD. This should cause the launcher to open and let you install the game. For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation' and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory. This is the executable that Windows would normally launch for you. Step III: Downloading the Game Installer. I plan to also install it to my old 13' laptop that doesnt have a cd drive. This tells older versions of Windows what to run automatically when the disc is inserted. Installing Diablo 2 on a laptop without CD drive I have original copies of D2 + LOD which is installed on my desktop computer.
